Annual General Meeting

The Nanaimo Women’s Resources Society’s will hold its Annual General Meeting on October 23. We will report on our achievements this passing year, discuss the focus of our work for next year, and elect new committee members. This is also a great opportunity for you to meet our members and support the work that we do with women and families.

 We recognize the critical importance of community involvement in meeting these challenges and are therefore urging all our members and interested parties to attend this year’s AGM. This annual gathering gives us the opportunity to recognize those remarkable women who have developed and sustained this agency and extend an invitation to those who would like to become involved.

Volunteers

The Nanaimo Women’s Resource Centre Is looking for Volunteers for our day time drop-in program, as well as offering other opportunities for aiding with special events, fundraising, donations, and becoming a board member. 

The Centre provides a safe space, access to emergency resources, and peer support and programming.  If you want to learn more about community resources and various support organizations for women, gain job experience, and a larger awareness of women’s issues, consider giving a few hours a week to your community.

We require positive, open minded, non-judgmental women who are willing to lend their skills. Interested women can contact the centre’s staff at (250) 753 0633 or email Ginna at coordinator@nanaimowomen.com.

We want to hear from you!

The Nanaimo Women’s Centre free clothing exchange is an important resource for many women in our community. We promote the free exchange of items and do not charge for any of the items donated to the Centre.
We gladly accept clean gently used clothing such as practical women’s wear, business wear, seasonal wear, children’s wear and small toys. We also accept smaller household items such as linens, towels, etc..

Donation of toiletries, hygiene products, and sealed non–perishable food is welcome.
Donations are accepted at the Women’s Centre during Drop In hours 10–3pm Tuesday–Friday.
